A skilled paladin can sometimes turn the table on his opponents, striking back
with his shield after using it to block the enemy's attack. The effects of
the shield strike will vary, usually simply harming the foe with a mighty
thump, but also occasionally upending him, dismounting him, or knocking a
weapon flying from his hands.

The quality, materials, and condition of the paladin's shield all contribute
to the success of the shield strike skill, as do the paladin's quickness and
raw strength.

The shield strike skill is passive; it happens automatically following a
successful shield block.
